Hold the Rope
Equipping leaders, empowering families, and impacting communities in Western Kenya to bring sustainable resources, skills training and education, and strengthening the local church

Equipping hands with practical tools. Anchoring hearts in the Gospel.
Equip
True, lasting transformation doesn't happen in a vacuum - it requires a foundation built on truth and love. "Equip" is where our mission gets its boots on the ground, reflecting the heart of Jesus by meeting both physical and spiritual needs. We focus on providing the tangible resources, essential education, and practical tools communities need to thrive, while sharing the life-changing hope of the Gospel. By bridging immediate resource gaps and demonstrating Christ's love in action, we ensure that local leaders are fully prepared to build a brighter, sustainable future.

Moving from aid to agency, rooted in Christ
Empower
Giving tools is only the first step; true stewardship means ensuring those resources remain in motion through local leadership. "Empower" is about investing in the God-given potential of every person. We work alongside local leaders to build skills, strengthen capacity, and cultivate confidence that comes from understanding their identity and worth in Christ. By fostering local ownership and teaching sustainable skills, we help communities move from aid to agency, creating lasting, locally led transformation that honors God and endures.

Generational change. Kingdom impact.
Impact
"Impact" is where generational change becomes Kingdom impact. It is the lasting fruit of communities equipped with practical resources, empowered through Christ-centered relationships, and led by local people who are invested in their own future. As lives are transformed by the love of Jesus, families grow stronger, opportunities expand, and a legacy of faith, resilience, and hope is passed from one generation to the next. The result is not merely temporary improvement, but lasting transformation that glorifies God and endures for generations.

Hold the Rope. Change a life.
Before pioneer missionary, William Carey, set out for India in the late 1700s, he addressed his small circle of support, comparing his revolutionary mission to exploring a deep, uncharted mine. He told them:
"I will go down into the pit, if you will hold the rope."
That historic pact forms the heartbeat of everything we do. In any great undertaking, there are those who stand on the front lines and there are those who stand firm with unwavering commitment to hold the rope. Your partnership allows us to live out our three foundational pillars: equipping communities with practical tools, empowering local leaders through Christ-centered relationships, and bringing about the kind of true transformation that impacts generations.

Supporting teachers. Educating children. Empowering communities.
Precious Day Academy
Every child deserves the chance to learn, regardless of their family's financial situation. In partnership with Restoration Ebenezer Ministries, we support Precious Day Academy by securing stable salaries for teachers and staff, covering essential facility rent, and providing vital learning materials. By absorbing these foundational operational costs, we ensure that even the most vulnerable families—those who cannot afford tuition or uniforms—can give their children the gift of a life-changing education.

Sustaining leaders. Strengthening churches. Transforming communities.
Pastor Support
The Pastor Support Program is the very heartbeat of Hold the Rope—it is the need that started it all. We partner with local pastors who are deeply committed to their communities but lack the basic resources to provide for their own households. When a pastor is consumed by the daily worry of putting food on the table, their ability to minister is heavily burdened. By providing consistent, baseline support, we ensure these leaders can feed their families, freeing them from the weight of survival so they can fully dedicate themselves to the vital spiritual and practical work God has called them to do.

Equipping hands. Securing livelihoods.
Hands on the Spindle
Hands on the Spindle is a vocational training program dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through tangible, life-changing skills. By teaching professional sewing, we empower individuals with the means to secure reliable jobs and generate a sustainable income for their families. To make this possible, Hold the Rope steps in to provide essential classroom materials and equipment, honor the dedicated trainers for their time, and fully cover the cost of professional licensing—the final, crucial step that unlocks high-paying employment opportunities for our graduates.

Clean water. Healthy homes. Living hope.
Clean Water
Clean water is the foundation of life, yet many families we serve have never had access to it. We deliver high-efficiency Uzima water filtration systems to families, providing comprehensive training on filter care, maintenance, and essential hygiene habits. Through dedicated follow-up visits, we ensure these systems stay functional for the long haul. We are already seeing these filters become a powerful tool for evangelism; as families experience the miracle of clean water, they naturally share it with their neighbors—sharing both physical refreshment and the Gospel with everyone around them.

Giving the Word. Fueling the faith.
Bibles
True spiritual poverty isn't a lack of desire for God; it's a lack of access to His Word. We partner with individuals who are desperate to hold a Bible of their own but face economic barriers that make it impossible. Hold the Rope believes that no one should be starved of Scripture. For less than $10, we can fulfill a profound spiritual hunger. By putting a Bible into the hands of someone who will cherish it, we are turning what we so easily take for granted into an answered prayer for another.

Seating students. Welcoming families.
Chairs
A chair is a simple thing, but a lack of them is holding back both our school and our church. Right now, our children are learning on old, broken wooden chairs and benches simply because that is what was available. and our church is growing so fast from our recent spring outreach that we’ve run out of room for people to sit. For less than $10, you can provide new chair where it is needed most. Whether it is keeping a child focused on their lessons, or ensuring a neighbor has a seat to hear the Gospel on Sunday, this small gift removes a physical barrier and opens the door to a brighter future.
